Who we are
West Cumbria Aikido is a founding member of TAA and has been a member of TAE since February 2020. Our West Cumbrian club history stretches back to the autumn of 1999 when one of our instructors (Adrian) established the first Aikido club in St Bees.

We are a friendly club focused on following the technical direction of Sensei de Quirós. We meet three times a week throughout the year (see below) and cater for all abilities. Classes are primarily focused on training for adults, but juniors of 16 years and older are accepted if accompanied by a parent / responsible adult.

Both Adrian and Jason, our instructors, are BAB Coaching Level 1 certified instructors and DBS checked. Adrian is a St John qualified first aider.

Where we are
We train at St Bees School, in the West Cumbrian village of St Bees, just south of Whitehaven and about an hour south of Carlisle and an hour west of Penrith.
